The transformation of a hotel

In Roissy, the Van der Valk Hotel Paris CDG Airport is being reinvented. Stylishly designed rooms, reimagined social spaces, renewed culinary experiences… An ambitious modernisation that combines comfort, elegance, and Dutch hospitality. In the unique spirit of the Van der Valk brand, every transformation carries the promise of a stay that is both warm and premium. Discover behind the scenes of this transformation in this article…

Since the beginning of the year, the Van der Valk Hotel Paris CDG Airport has been undergoing a large-scale transformation. Behind these renovations lies a clear ambition: to offer both travellers and professionals a setting that meets the highest international standards, while preserving the sincere and family-oriented spirit that defines the Van der Valk brand.

Rooms designed to be true cocoons

The first evidence of this transformation: 100 rooms and 2 Executive Suites have already been completely redesigned by Tessa Luiten, the group’s interior architect.

Newly named Deluxe Rooms, they combine contemporary design with ultimate comfort: premium bedding, spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, Nespresso coffee machine, smart TV, steam garment steamer to stay impeccable before a meeting… Nothing has been left to chance. Every detail helps create a relaxing and elegant atmosphere, ideal for unwinding between flights or preparing for a seminar.

Warm and inspiring living spaces

Beyond the rooms, the common areas have also been modernised to reflect a lifestyle spirit centred on conviviality.

  • The Atrium, spectacular with its 22-metre height, is the beating heart of the hotel; it now boasts elegant and luminous décor.
  • The restaurant and bar offer a warm ambiance, with terracotta and green-toned furniture, enhanced by natural accents.
  • The lobby and reception invite relaxation with new cozy corners, perfect for working quietly or extending a conversation.

Modernised professional spaces

To meet the expectations of event organisers and companies, the seminar rooms have also been carefully upgraded: new tables, practical yet elegant furniture, and above all, brand-new audiovisual equipment, ensuring optimal conditions for meetings and conferences.

New experiences to share

Because hospitality is also about the pleasure of dining, a brand-new space will soon open: a 500 m² buffet restaurant with a terrace, designed as a true gourmet stopover. The redesigned indoor garden and adjoining large terrace will provide an unexpected green oasis just steps from the airport and the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre.

A long-term project

The transformation does not stop there. Currently, 80 additional Deluxe Rooms are being renovated, along with 2 more Executive Suites and a prestigious Presidential Suite. By 2026, renovations will extend to all 390 rooms, with the North building scheduled for completion as early as January. This represents a total investment of more than €21 million, reaffirming the group’s ambition to make this hotel a benchmark in Roissy, both for transit travellers and for companies seeking a unique venue for their seminars.

A strong eco-responsible approach

This large-scale project also comes with a commitment to sustainability. Bedding, televisions, and furniture are given a second life through recycling, repurposing, and donations. The hotel is also preparing for the future with projects such as installing solar panels and refurbishing the swimming pool, combining premium comfort with environmental respect.
More than just a construction site, this is a true rebirth: that of a hotel combining modernity and hospitality, turning every stay into a memorable experience, in the great tradition of the Van der Valk brand.
